About FileKit

Powerful image tools that never see your images.

Why it exists

Most free image utilities work by uploading your file to a server you know nothing about. For a screenshot that may be fine. For an ID photo, a contract scan, a product mockup or a client's artwork, it is not. Modern browsers can do this work themselves, so there is no reason to send anything anywhere.

How local processing works

When you drop an image in, the browser reads it with the File API and decodes it into an ImageBitmap. Every operation — scaling, cropping, rotating, re-encoding — is drawn onto a canvas and encoded back into a Blob. Heavy or bulk work runs in a Web Worker on an OffscreenCanvas so the interface stays responsive. Downloads use object URLs created from that Blob, which are revoked once they are no longer needed.

Privacy philosophy

There is no backend, no database and no account system. The only network requests this site makes are for its own code, fonts and styles. Read the privacy page for the specifics.

Supported tools

Browser compatibility

Works in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. Format support depends on your browser: JPG, PNG and WebP encoding is available everywhere, while AVIF encoding is currently limited to Chromium-based browsers. When a format is unavailable, the option is disabled rather than silently producing the wrong file.
